There’s no better way to gauge the enthusiasm of an NFL team’s fan base than by tailgating in the parking lots before a game. Detroit Lions fans have a few traditional locations that they head to to fire up the grill, toss around the pigskin, and get psyched up for the game. Check them out below:
Eastern Market – This expansive, historic market is the consensus hub of Detroit Lions tailgating and first timers to the stadium will not want to miss out on this fan experience. The market is only a 10-minute walk away from Ford Field, but also runs a shuttle to the stadium every 15-minutes for just $5. Parking here is only $10 on game-days, but tailgating costs $40 total. Passes can be purchased online or at the market’s office on game day.

Greektown – This neighborhood is home to many open surface lots that will allow for game day tailgating. Prices typically range from $15-$20, but can run higher for bigger games.
As with any stadium, tailgating and parking prices are cheaper the further you park from the venue. Walking a few extra blocks may end up saving you quite a chunk of change. Tailgating is not allowed in parking garages.
