Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida is the home of the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball. The indoor dome and turf field are signature looks for this venue. It’s not uncommon for players to hit baseballs off of the cat-walk on the ceiling of the stadium, sometimes resulting in an automatic home-run!

Parking is plentiful near the stadium, with the Rays offering 14 official parking lots in the surrounding streets. There are also numerous private lots around the stadium that are regulated by the city of St. Petersburg, offering a safe, reliable experience to Rays fans and others. Tropicana Field Parking Tips

2017 Temp Parking Lots: St. Petersburg, Florida regulates off-site Tropicana Field parking lots. For that reason, you don’t want to pull into just any parking lot selling spaces for Rays games. Fans need to make sure they’re parking in licensed parking lots or they will risk getting ticketed or towed! View this map that shows which lots have registered for the 2017 season to sort through the madness.

Pre-Pay and Reserve Online: Don’t feel like weeding through the lots in the map above? We understand. You can easily reserve a parking space online at a licensed lot before heading to the Rays game! Check out Parking Panda to do so! It’ll help avoid the confusion and congestion of circling around looking for a prime off-site lot.

Park Downtown and Shuttle: Looking for the cheapest parking, or something fun to do before the game? Park in downtown St. Petersburg and take the FREE baseball shuttle to the stadium. Grab a bite to eat, see the sights, then head on over to the ballpark. The shuttle runs every 10 minutes and service begins 90 minutes before the game, while the last shuttle leaves 1-hour after the last out.  The shuttle pickup stops are as follows:

  • 1st Ave N mid-block between 1st St & 2nd St (near the south pedestrian entrance to the Sundial parking garage). Motorists may park in the garage by entering from 2nd St between 1st Ave N & 2nd Ave N.
  • 16th St just south of 3rd Ave S

Tips From A Rays Season Ticket Holder:

“My suggestion is to avoid the $15-$20 fee by parking two blocks away at John Hopkins Middle School with the price of only $5. My wife and I have been parking there ever since the school opened it’s gates contracting with parking attendants and sharing the fee with the school. This can actually be a shorter walk than if you parked in the main parking lot toward the back of the lot and you will enter near home plate. Hint: As you walk up to the stadium from the homeplate side, from right to left, you’ll see Gates 3-5. Gate 4 is for high dollar club seating. Gate 3 (on your right) has 2 lines. The left line is season ticket holders and the right accepts general admission. The line is usually much shorter than the general admission Gate 5.” – TLCTimFL, TripAdvisor.

Carpool, Park For Free: The Tampa Bay Rays offer a great program that offers fans who carpool free parking in their official lots, with certain restrictions. On Sundays, any vehicle with four or more passengers in the vehicle can park for free in Lots 2, 6, 7, 8, and 9. For games on any other day of the week, the first 100 vehicles with four or more vehicles will receive free parking in those same lots. More information about the program can be found on the Rays official website.
