NRG Stadium Parking Options
Finding cheap parking near NRG stadium is easy if you know where to look. If you’re willing to walk just a short distance you can save over $20 as compared to some of the closest locations to the stadium. We’ve put together a list of some of the best deals in the area so that you can outsmart the crowd and save a few bucks.
Book a space ahead of time so that you know exactly where you’re going to park, how much you’ll pay, that a space will be waiting for you on the other end of your journey. This is the easiest way to make sure that things go smoothly on game day and remove the potential stress from your NRG Stadium parking experience.
Tailgating at NRG Stadium
The Houston Texans not only allow tailgating, they encourage it! They want NRG Stadium to provide the finest tailgating experience in the NFL, so they have established a few guidelines to make your tailgating party great:
- All lots open 4 hour prior to kickoff except Platinum: 5 hours
- All parking requires a pre-paid hangtag
- One parking spot per car
- No pets allowed of any kind
- Flammable liquids are prohibited
- May not sit or stand on top of vehicle
- No music systems larger than 18” tall and 12” wide
- Music cannot exceed 68 decibels
NRG Stadium Handicap Parking
Handicap Parking is available in every lot. A pre-paid parking pass is required upon entry. A government issued placard or license plate must be displayed when parking in any of these spots. These items will be monitored and strictly enforced, so please have both placards visibly displayed in your car while on NRG Park property. Violation of these regulations may result in forfeiture of the parking pass. Please note that specific parking spaces cannot be reserved.
For limited mobility guests, drop off and pick up points have been designated on the southeast (Amegy Bank Gate) and northeast (Coca-Cola Gate) corners of NRG Stadium. Drivers may access these locations off of Kirby onto Westridge or NRG Parkway (McNee), respectively, by alerting the parking attendant that they are dropping off or picking up a guest. Once the guest is dropped off, drivers should leave and proceed to the H-E-B Parking Lot for which they have a parking pass.
For limited mobility guests using the light rail system, there is a shuttle that will pick up at the Fannin light rail stop and drop off near the Coca-Cola Gate. The shuttle will also be available at the conclusion of the game for the return trip to the Fannin stop.
Public Transit to NRG Stadium
METRORail
The arrival of METRORail brings a new era of transportation to Houston. It’s a fast, convenient and safe way to travel between Downtown, Midtown, the Museum District, the Texas Medical Center, NRG Park and the South Fannin Park & Ride Lot. With frequent service and the capacity to carry up to 400 passengers per trip, METRORail will help cut through congestion in these heavily traveled areas.
