Prudential Center Parking Guide

Prudential Center, located in Newark, New Jersey, is home to the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and NCAA basketball’s Seton Hall Pirates. There’s a handful of parking options near the arena—book a reservation ahead and get the the arena before the puck drops!

The Prudential Center has over 3,500 parking spaces available within two blocks distance of the venue. The arena also has over 10 official parking lots and garages that are made available for advanced purchase on their website.

Tailgating at the Prudential Center

Tailgating is not allowed around or near the Prudential Center for hockey games or any other live events. City ordinances prohibit both grilling on sidewalks and open bottles and/or liquor containers. However, the Prudential Center and everything within is always open 90 minutes before the start of every event, and this includes the popular Bud Lite Goal Bar, Fire Lounge, Ice Lounge, and a 350-seat restaurant.

Handicap Parking At Prudential Center

Prudential Center complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Contact the Prudential Center Box Office at 800-745-3000 for more details or visit the arena’s ADA information page.

Designated handicap parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for vehicles which display the state-issued disability placard or license plate. Handicap spaces can also be purchased in advance online.

Public Transit to Prudential Center

  • NJ TRANSIT offers over two dozen bus routes and six rail lines to Newark, as well as the Newark Light Rail system.
  • NEWARK PENN STATION is only two blocks from Prudential Center, which is also connected to the Newark Broad Street Station by both bus and Light Rail services.
  • PATH offers 24-7 rail transportation which connects Newark with Harrison, Hoboken, Jersey City and Manhattan, New York. With thirteen total stations, PATH’s Newark terminal is only a short walk from Prudential Center and can be reached from any of the other stations. PATH also works with Prudential Center to accommodate guests returning from events late at night.

From New Jersey Turnpike North: Take Exit 14 toward I-78 and take the center ramp after the toll booth toward US-1-9. Continue on US-1-9 for about three miles and exit on the right onto RT-21 McCarter Hwy. Take the Broad Street exit on the right and continue northbound on Broad Street, and then turn right onto Lafayette Street. Prudential Center will be on the left.

From New Jersey Turnpike South: Take Exit 15W onto I-280 westbound and turn right on Exit 15A towards Route 21 South. Turn right onto Rector Street and then turn left onto Broad Street. Continue southbound on Broad Street and turn left onto Lafayette Street. Prudential Center will be on the left.

From New York City: From the Lincoln Tunnel or George Washington Bridge, follow signs for New Jersey Turnpike South and take Exit 15W onto I-280 westbound. From here, directions are same as from New Jersey Turnpike South.

From Newark Liberty International Airport: Follow signs for US 1 N / US 9 N / US-22. Continue northbound on US-1-9 and exit on the left toward RT-21 Newark Downtown, and then take the Broad Street exit on the right. Continue northbound on Broad Street and turn right onto Lafayette Street. Prudential Center will be on the left.
